Named after the style in which the famous master painted portraits, this lighting is characterized by a triangle of light on the shadow side of the face. This triangle appears in different locations depending upon the shape of the face and nose, and the height and position of the main light.

Note the nose shadow, which should just spill off of (and not on) the lip.
