Intro to Graphics
Welcome to the first session of the 2009 "Mixed Media" workshop series. The timeframe has been expanded
this year to allow lab work. All classes begin on Friday evening and continue through Saturday afternoon.
This session will provide a brief overview of some programs used in the graphics world. We will scan and photograph images, then adjust them for output using Photoshop. We will shape some type in Illustrator and take a brief look
at bezier curves. These components will be assembled using InDesign to create a final document.
From there, we'll create a .pdf file of the project. After that, we will dabble with sound editing using Audacity.
Returning to Acrobat, we'll incorporate the sound file into the .pdf we created.
Then we will jump to more of an online approach, sampling Flash and including our sound file.
We will look into Dreamweaver and build a rudimentary web page that includes our Flash file and a link
to the .pdf file.
Is that all?
It is difficult to forecast the needs and wants of a group, yet alone provide a meaningful workshop that accommodates the varied experience the group brings to the game. I will attempt to address your concerns if you voice them. I hope you have a valuable experience.
Thank you for attending the Mixed Media workshop.
