Shotgun Microphone

This footage was taken from the same location as the previous set of clips. The difference is the use of a shotgun mic. There is a helper pointing the mic directly at the subject and listening to the sound through headphones as it is being recorded.
Note that the background sound has been reduced, and the subject's voice is loudest. He is speaking at the same volume as the previous example.
The interviewer cannot be heard very well, standing behind the camera.
In order to correctly pick up both voices, two microphones would have to be used. The alternative is to have the interviewer do a "voice over" for the off-camera part. |
