This field of study deals with the creation and preparation of visual messages, conveyed either as an interactive multimedia program,a digital video movie, a web site, or printed piece. The Graphic Communications department offers two distinct paths toward attainment of either an Associates Degree or Certificate of Completion.

Graphic Design deals with the planning and creation of projects. There is an almost equal emphasis on art and production methods in this area. A graduate of this program should be prepared for entry level design production, or continuation to a four year college. This program usually appeals to the artistically inclined individual.

Graphic Communication deals with the technical requirements and limitations of the various processes.Studies include web page construction, offset print preparation, and multimedia production. A graduate of this program should possess a wide set of entry level employment skills. This program tends to appeal to the technically minded individual.
Web Design Certificate of Achievement deals with essential skills required to create websites. We concentrate on the appearance, functionality, and logical navigation of sites as the student progresses through 17 units of instruction. Click Web Design for a program summary.

"Learn By Doing"
All of our programs feature a "hands-on" approach. We emphasize lab activities and provide a wealth of project work to complete. Students do not need previous computer or graphics experience, nor do they need to own a computer or software. We work with both the Macintosh and Windows platforms, and offer open lab times for all students who are enrolled in our classes.
