This field of study deals with the creation and preparation of visual messages, conveyed either as an interactive multimedia program, an Internet page, or a printed piece. The Graphic Communications Department offers two distinct paths toward attainment of either an Associates Degree or Certificate of Completetion.

Graphic Design deals with the planning and creation of projects. There is an almost equal emphasis on art and production methods in this area. A graduate of the program would be prepared for entry-level design production, or continuation at a four-year college. This program usually appeals to the artistically inclined individual.

Graphic Communications deals with the technical requirements and limitations of the various processes. Studies include web page construction, offset print preparation, and multimedia production. A graduate of this program would possess a wide set of entry-level employment skills. This program tends to appeal to the more technically minded individual.
